Community of Practice on Twin Transition
The combination of the green and digital transitions is often referred to as the Twin Transition.
This concept highlights the simultaneous green and digital transitions, which mutually reinforce one another. The Digital Transformation enhances the green transition by enabling various sustainability measures, while the green transition integrates sustainability principles into the Digital Transformation.
Twin transition refers to strengthening digital solutions that support the green transition in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
“A ‘twin transition’ approach combines digital and sustainability strategies to boost efficiency and sustainability objectives, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals related to circular economy, climate action, and biodiversity.”
Digitalisation and the green transition are two mutually reinforcing directions of change that are shaping the future. The green transition aims to advance sustainability and combat climate change and environmental degradation, while the digital transition leverages digital technologies to strengthen sustainability, prosperity, and inclusion. These transitions are interconnected, for example, through data collection, analytics, and energy efficiency, giving solutions for the sustainable use of natural resources.
That calls for Twin Transition competences in education as a solution.
Community of Practice on Twin Transition brings together people from different field of work and education, who on the background of their professional or civic activities are related with questions on Twin Transition, with a view to learn from each other, share experiences and good practice.
