About
The TeProD project addresses Africa’s climate crisis by developing a skilled workforce in climate action and circular economy principles, focusing on Ghana and Namibia. Using AI and digital technologies, the project enhances teacher development and updates curricula to support green and digital transformations, promoting sustainable growth and jobs.
The project aligns with the European Comission priorities of the Green Deal and Digital transformation, emphasizing green and circular economy, digital skills, pedagogy, and AI. It also supports Sub-Saharan Africa’s priorities of addressing climate change and circular economy, and enhancing digital education and skills.
The integration of AI is central to the project, adopting a participatory design approach and the TPACK framework to improve teaching methods. By customizing open-source AI tools, TeProD aims to create smart guides, co-pilots, and interactive content for effective learning.
Specific Objectives of the TeProD project:
The specific objectives of the TeProD project are to increase the knowledge and skills of teachers and students in pedagogical programs and teachers in other HE programs in the areas of circular economy, green transition, digitalization, pedagogy, and the use of AI and digital tools in education. The project aims to align curricula with industry needs in the area of twin transition and to enhance collaboration and partnerships among higher education institutions and industry professionals in the area of twin transition.
Outcomes:
TeProD has two main outcomes: 1) enhancing teachers’ competencies in twin transitions and pedagogy, and 2) updating curricula, teaching methods, and course contents with AI integration. The project will train teachers and decision-makers, develop a comprehensive handbook for educators in Ghana, Namibia, and other African countries, and facilitate dynamic mobility and exchange among staff and students, fostering a vibrant, cross-cultural learning ecosystem.
